Graphic productions constitute one of the most revealing elements of the social behaviors of human groups in Prehistory. As reflections of their spirituality and expressions of symbolic practices, they also convey a wealth of information about the relationships between populations and their environments, both as sources of inspiration and of raw materials, as well as about their social organization.
The 9th edition of the conference “The Art of Prehistoric Societies” is structured around four thematic areas dedicated to exploring these various aspects of the activities and behaviors of prehistoric societies through the lens of their graphic productions. The four sessions examine graphic practices from the Pleistocene to the Holocene. Methodological approaches contributing to any of these thematic axes are welcome.
